CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: SUAREZ ANONYMOUS AGAINST LIVERPOOL

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez was largely anonymous as his Atletico Madrid side lost 2-0 to Liverpool in their latest meeting in the Champions League. The two teams met in a Group B clash at Anfield on Wednesday night and it was Liverpool who ran out 2-0 winners to complete the double over the Spanish champions.

Atletico Madrid showed their indiscipline in the two games against Liverpool in Group B as they ended each of the two games with ten men. In their first meeting of the season at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Frenchman Antoine Griezmann was sent off for a high and dangerous challenge on Brazilian star Roberto Firmino to ensure that the Spaniards ended to the game with ten men. SUAREZFAILS TO SCORE AGAINST ARGENTINA

Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez was unable to add to his four goals during the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the South American section as his Uruguay side went down to the reigning Copa America champions. Luis Suarez was not amongst the goals as Argentina beat Uruguay 3-0 at home to take another step towards qualification for the tournament at the end of next year.

The Argentine defenders led by Aston Villa shot stopper Emiliano Martinez were able to nullify the threat of Luis Suarez on the way to victory made possible by two first half goals from Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul. Read more…

SUAREZ SAYS GRIEZMANN’S RETURN WILL HELP ATLETICO

Following the re-signing of France international attacker Antoine Griezmann by Atletico Madrid from Barcelona on transfer deadline day, a lot of people have questioned whether the attacker will be able to find his way into the starting eleven this season. In a move that came as a shock to some and a surprise to many, Atletico Madrid secured the signing of Griezmann on the last day of this summer’s transfer window on a season-long loan for a fee said to be in the region of €4 million. The transfer could be made permanent at the end of the season but that would solely be dependent on how well the 30-year-old performs for Diego Simeone’s men this season.

Griezmann left Atletico Madrid in 2019 under controversial circumstances to sign for Barcelona even though the club didn’t want to let him go. At the time, Barcelona could not afford the entire £120 million that Atletico were asking for and the player reportedly paid a part of his own transfer fee before the deal was completed and since then, he has lost favor in the sight of a section of the Atletico Madrid fans. Since he left Atletico Madrid, the Rojiblancos have been able to win the Spanish La Liga and they did that last season with the help of striker Luis Suarez who also joined them after leaving Barcelona Last season. SUAREZ IN SHOCK LIVERPOOL TRANSFER

Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez has been surprising linked with a return to Liverpool during this summer’s transfer window. Uruguayan international Suarez left Liverpool to sign for Barcelona in a £75m deal in 2014 to make him one of the most expensive players in the history of transfers.

Various media outlets have reported that Luis Suarez could be a very good forward option for Liverpool manager JurgenKlopp. Liverpool start their new Premier League campaign against Norwich City next week. Suarez was a thorn in the flesh of Norwich City during his time at Liverpool. It’s highly unlikely but the Reds haveless than two weeks to pull off a move for Suarez in time for the Norwich City game next weekend.

SUAREZ ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT SEASON

Atlético Madrid striker Luis Suarez may still be away on international duty with Uruguay, but he is already planning ahead of next season with his club. The former Liverpool star is currently trying to help Uruguay at the Copa America this summer but he is showing off his multi-tasking skills by revealing that he is already putting plans in place to shine for the Rojiblancos once again next season.

The striker starred for the Madrid club last season as he scored 20 League goals to help them clinch the Spanish La Liga title ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid. Suarez joined Atletico from Barcelona two summers ago after being told by the Barca manager Ronald Koeman that he was no longer able to perform at the high level. However, he would go on to prove to the former Netherlands boss that he still has what it takes to be recognized as a top striker.
