Luis Suarez expressed his gratitude towards Luis Enrique

After being at the helm of Barcelona for 3 years, Luis Enrique has stepped down from his managerial position at Camp Nou.

The Spanish manager said that he wants to take a break from the world of football but that there is a big possibility of him making a return in the future.

In 3 years, Luis Enrique was able to push Barcelona to a number of titles including: La Liga, Copa del Rey, Spanish Supercup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Now it’s up to the recently selected coach Ernesto Valverde to follow the footsteps and continue winning pieces of silverware.

Following the departure of Luis Enrique as the head coach of Barcelona, Luis Suarez has gone on to give his praise towards the 47 year old tactician.

“Thanks coach! Specially for all these things you’ve taught me!!!! THANKS and much success in the future.” Luis Suarez wrote on his social media twitter account.

The 30 year old Uruguayan attacker has also recently talked about his biting incident back in the 2014 FIFA World Cup where he bitted Italy´s Giorgio Chiellini and was subsequently banned for 9 international matches.

This biting incident occurred on June 24 of 2014 during the FIFA World Cup of that year and the Uruguayan player said that he was afraid of not getting signed by Barcelona due to this event.

Barcelona´s Luis Suarez said: “Pere Guardiola(Suarez’s agent) called to say I should take it easy, and that Barca still wanted me. ZubiAndoniZubizarreta also called. I remember that after I spoke to Andoni I could not stop crying because I could not believe they still wanted me. Barca was a great motivation to bounce back.”

At the time of the 2014 FIFA World Cup biting event, Suarez still had not signed with Barcelona and the Uruguayan player was fearful that it could make Barcelona think twice before signing him but at the end of it all, he was signed with the Spanish club.
