Luis Suarez, the Uruguay football great took to their Instagram handle and added fuel to the reports that claim Lionel Messi is on track for making a sensational return to Barcelona, his former club. Sharing a throwback post in April, Barcelona posted photos of Barcelona’s away win over Deportivo on 2016 April. The photo featured match pictures with the primary focus on Suarez for scoring 4 goals in the La Liga game.

Suarez Debuts with Four Goals for Gremio

 

Luis Suarez was a former forward player with Atletico Madrid and Liverpool. He has recently joined a Brazilian club called Gremio. Since his addition to the team he recently played in a game where he grabbed a hat trick by the first half. Suarez, now 35 years of age, joined this Brazilian club recently, in the January transfer window of 2023. Before that, he was completing a stint with Nacional, his boyhood club.


If we look at their performance records, he is a veteran forward player who played for Uruguay in the World Cup.  While playing for Nacional he had netted the ball eight times out of 14 tries. Those who know Suarez also knew that he would be looking for new challenges. Hence, once his contract with Nacional ended he was taken up by Gremio. This club has also been on a successful streak since last season. As a result, they have moved up the Serie A board ofBrazil clubs. Rumors started making rounds a few days ago that La Maquina to add Luis Suarez, the veteran Uruguayan striker to their ranks and there has been new progress.


So, the question is, is Luis Suarez going to join Cruz Azul for the 2023 Apertura kick-off? Víctor Velázquez, the club president has confirmed interest in Cruz Azul in the ex-Barcelona forward and has revealed that the club board is looking to bring Suarez in time for the start of 2023 Clausura starts on 6th January. LUIS SUAREZ ADDS ANOTHER TROPHY TO HIS SUCCESSFUL CAREER

Luis Suarez has ensured his glittering career has gone full circle after winning the Uruguayan title with Nacional – 16 years after lifting the trophy for the first time. The 35-year-old started his career with his boyhood club and won the top flight title in his first full season in professional football, scoring ten goals in 27 appearances in the 2005/06 campaign. Suarez went on to enjoy enormous success, winning an Eredivisie title with Ajax, a League Cup with Liverpool, four LaLiga titles and a Champions League with Barcelona before adding another Spanish title to his trophy cabinet with Atletico Madrid, not to mention a Copa America with his country.

However, after returning to Uruguay with Nacional, Suarez may have left his most precious title until last. His boyhood club secured the Primera Division title with a match to spare as they earned a 2-1 win over Cerrito, a fixture that is expected to be Suarez’s penultimate game for the club.
